South Korea: Jeju - Day Trip Destination 1: Teddy Bear Museum

As i said in previous post, Jeju's attraction is in Seogwipo area and the best way to travel from Jeju-Si is rent a taxi and make it one day trip.

You can get your driver when you're in Jeju, but i'd suggest to get one before you go there, because you might meet communicate difficulties when you're there to look for taxi rental.

So i get the host of Jeju Greenday Backpacker to help me. Below is the email with the trip's detail.

10am : Seogwipo for lunch & shopping around Lotte Mart / chill on the beach. 
12pm : Cheonjiyeon Falls or Jeongbang Falls (rm6/entry) or Museum
130pm : Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak & snack time (seafood catching show at 130pm) 
330pm : San-gum Buri 
630pm : Mystery road
7pm : Jeju Si for dinner. 
8pm : Walk in the town.
***Stay : Greenyday Guest House & Backpacker.

if you follow this schedule, i think, accoding my experience, you will have to drop one shcedule at least.

i recommand you to cut off 'lotte mart shopping' becuase you can go to lotte mart in jeju city area after finishing your trip.

you you don't need to spend time for lotte mart during your precious trip time.

also basically DAY TOUR time(normal taxi) is starting from a.m 9:00 to pm :5:00 ( 8 hours) for sedan which accomodate 4 people maximum and nomally cost 150,000KRW and extra 10,000 chared every 30 m

VAN which accomodate 5 people costs 180,000KRW  per 8 hours (09:00~05:00) 

so i recommand you to use VAN for tour and what i can offer suggest is below

Jeju Si -> Seogwipo -> Cheonjiyeon Falls or Jeongbang Falls ->Teddy Bear Museum (rm20/entry)-> Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak-> San-gum Buri (rm10) -> Mystery road -> Jeju Si.
9am: departing from jeju city

10am : arriving Seogwipo and seeing Cheonjiyion FALLs. and seeing Teddy bear museum located near falls

12am : departing from seogwipo to Seongsan ilchulbong

1:30pm : arriving Seongsan and seeing seafood catching show

3:00pm : departing from seongsan

4:00pm : arrving san-gum buri

5:00pm : departing from san-gum buri to mystery road

5:20pm : arrivng lotte mart and finishing tour

and you can enjoy your time at lotte mart and taking dinner around there and come back the guest house with taxi whch costs 5000 KRW

But we finally reschedule the plan when i meet Simmy and Andy in Jeju, they give us very good suggestion on where is the better place for view and so, so the day trip schedule was like below:

Jeju si -> Teddy Bear museum -> Jeongbang Falls -> Seopjikoji -> Seafood lunch -> Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak -> Manjanggu lave tube - > Jeju Si. 

However, if i could replan, i'll take museum and lava tube away. I will explain it later. 

Also, we give up the famous Hanna Mountain because we have only a day in Jeju, If we take Hanna Mountain means that we have to give up most of the other attraction.

A friend we make in the backpack who went to Hanna Mountain told us, she take like 6 hours to hike to the peak, but the top view is amazing.

So if you have extra day stay in Jeju, maybe you should save one day to the Hanna Mountain.

With above plan, the charge of driver + mini van + petrol for one whole day trip is same, which is 192000kw (about RM528), exclude all the entrance fees.

Expensive eh? I didn't make much comparison because of hardly find people could speak English in Korea, and i must say Korean lost their patient very very soon, if you try to bargain, they rather to let the business off.

Of course you can choose to rent a car, but if you're Malaysian, just to let you know they're drive on left and you have to get a international license.

The car rental fees is cheaper than rent a taxi + driver, but you've to pay your petrol and find the road, but i guess you can rent the GPS together with the car too. 

There are several car rental company in Jeju, some of them set up counter in the airport too, do some research if you keen to rent a car. 

Ok~ So the 1st destination of the day trip is Teddy Bear Museum, the museum that i'm not really recommend if you're not the fans.

I'm not a fans of teddy bear so everything in the museum is bored for me, the only fun part is the outdoor park, with human height bears, make you feel like you're living in the bear society.

But the entrances fees is not cheap at all, 7000kw per adult, equal to about RM21, well if you're fans of it this might be so worth.

There are different museum nearby the teddy bear museum, i spot a car museum and toy museum, i guess will be much more interesting than this one :(..

Anyway i blessed because of the good weather that day, outdoor photo looks just nice!

Opps before that, i will not post captain of the photos, i cant force myself to say something when i really don't have much interest on it. Hehe.
