NZ's labor day wasn't in May like Malaysia, but October.
So labor day in this year dropped in Monday, i had 3 off day continually.
And so i decided to go for trip, just that i have been those towns nearby, the next town i really want to go is Kaikoura, the crayfish and abalone town.
Marcus has offday too, Emily wanna join, so 4 of us departed from Motueka to Kaikoura, 4 hours driving distance.
Kaikoura means eat crayfish or food-crayfish in Moari, famous with crayfish, the must eat when you visit Kaikoura.
But for me, abalone and crayfish in Kaikoura are so-so, and slightly expensive than Malaysia, the best thing in Kaikoura is whale watch, and the view. Kaikoura is my no. 1 must-go place in NZ so far.
Kaikoura is a very special place, where right hand side are snow mountain, and left hand side are sunshine and sea, just like you're in between of winter and summer, and these elements made beautiful Kaikoura.
The seaside is simply beautiful, we got lots of photo there and the next stop is crayfish!
We went to the famous seafood BBQ stall in Kaikoura, long Q and the seafood is not cheap at all. But well, since we're in the crayfish town, we give a try anyway.
And later we went to the famous Peninsula walkway, this is really really beautiful and you guys should spend like 2 hours for this walkway, but well if you're lazy to the walkway, you can choose to have a walk by the seaside, plenty of fur seals, you can see them in very very very close distance!
If you're lucky enough, you can spot professional crayfish and abolone catcher fishing crayfish and abalone!
Just like us!
Afterall, Kaikoura is not a big town, but is handy enough, lots of backpacker and supermarket, people came here for whale watch (i did that, see last post please!) and holiday.
But one thing that people might not know is a beautiful Lavender farm exist before enter to Kaikoura town.
I'm sorry that i forget the exactly location, but if you've a car you can drive into the town and ask in i-site.
Too bad we went to wrong time, not much Lavender but its beautiful enough.
After farm visit, we check in to backpacker, and went out for food hunting, and went to the peak point of Kaikoura.
No worry, you can drive up to the peak point, no walking! Hehehe.
Beautiful place, i really wish to come back to join the swim with dolphin tour! But first i have to get a swim suit la!
Alright, another few trips post coming up!

Where else did you all go besides Kaikuora ......as this place would have to come through either Christchurch or Blenheim/Picton.by road??? Did you not see the shinny multicolour abalone shelf (termed blackgold abalone)
