New Zealand: Whakatane - Horse Trekking for the First Time

This is the last and only outing i haven't had update now, so after this, i bet i can only update something bored and dry thing.

Well, last weekend Sun, Tien, Yee and Jack decided to go to Coromendal, the northern part of north island, 4 hours driving distance from Tauranga for 3d2n trip, and i don't want to spend much money that time, 'cause my work wasn't confirm yet, after calculated the money i leave, i quited from the trip.

Williem and Hoe had moved out, mean that, i'm the only one at home.

I was like HORRRAYYYYYYYYY!

For an hour, only. Then i felt the loneliness, so i start calling people for an outing, Kaie Sieng, Emily and Mei Siew available and i decided to go for a day trip to Whakatane, the famous whale and dolphin and maybe penguin watching.

An hour boat trip wasn't expensive, $85 per person, the most important is, i really wanted to see dolphin and penguin!

So you must expect to see awesome photos of penguin and dolphin?

I tell you, THE TRIP IS NOT AVAILABLE IN WINTER!

I got to know it when we were there!

Frankly, Whakatane is a bored place, except the famous boat trip and white island. Boat trip is not available in winter, and white island is not worth to go, just some place like Wai-o-tapu.

Then we decided to go Ohope beach, the top 10 holiday beach in NZ.

Bird is more than human on the beach

And again frankly, the beach is bored, Papamoa beach is more beautiful.

We leave within half hour, and we really had no place to go except Kohi Point, the mount in Whakatane, that can see white and whale island from the peak, but Emily checked from the information, you have to spend 4 hours to up to the peak.

I DON'T WANT!!!!!!

So we just leave.

Half way to go back to the town, i saw Kohi Point sign board and i just make the turn according the direction, although i don't know i want to hike to the peak or not.

So i drive and drive and drive, and the road lead me to the peak, without 4 minutes!

We was like hahahahahahahhahahahahaahhaah we reached the peak!

Then we go back to i-site to look for other attraction around Whakatane, then we found a horse farm away from town center bout 45 minute driving distance, and we decided to go for horse trekking that i wanted to go always!

$50 for 1 and half hour, this is trekking is special because they bring you up to the jungle, down to the river, and run on the greeny ground! Totally different with what i had read before like seaside trekking, and i absolutely prefer this one 'cause this is more exciting.

I just cant recall the name of this farm

Horses

I like this one!

But i got this one

Ready to go!

She's ready as well!

All of us were smilling

Then replaced by screaming and yelling

And the blogger die die want take photo still!

Almost there!

We have 4 people, with 5 cameras, but the photos of horse trekking are only 100++ from all 5 cameras, i bet if you were me, you won't want to take photos too, the track is just so tough!
Its not easy to WALK by your pair of legs, more over riding a horse, i feel pity for the horses that we were riding, but just cant deny that this is such a great experience, although Emily nearly fall from the horse when her horse - Blue Eye was goin down to the hill, and Mei Siew's horse - Cheeky mis-stepped to the deeper part of the stream and eventually she soaked her legs in to cold river, the guide was so nervous, i think she must o/s in her heart that: "Damn why must me to guide those Asian?!" Hahaha

But anyway, we got back to the farm safely (darn of course or i won't have blogging here!). Before get down from the horse, we have a groupie pic.

Thanks God i'm not falling into the stream!

After ridingme

Below is the very very very short video clip that i recorded accidentally, when i found this clip only i ask myself, why shouldn't i take video instead of photos? This is easlier right?!

Darn! But too late.

So enjoy the short clip reader.

Ciao and wait for the next post!
