New Zealand: Akaroa - Chez La Merz Backpackers Review

HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY 2011!

FYI, the blogger landed in Malaysia 2 days ago, i was in Singapore and Melbourne for few days before i back to Malaysia, had some great experience and will post it after my NZ part, there are just 10+ to updates ONLY!

Don't blame coz i was full time backpacker in the last 3 weeks, i moved places to places and time to time, hardly got internet access and this is the reason why i just forced to delay all these post.

Oh well, early of December, i quited my job, i celebrated my birthday, and i left where i stayed for 3 months, and started travel to the down south part of south island.

The first stop, Christchurch, to pick up Julien and the travel mates that i never seen, Aston.

After picked them up and we headed to Akaroa, the France town in the northern of Christchurch.

The reason i wanna be there was to join a tour of swimming with dolphin, i don't expect much about this town but ended up its such a surprise for me!

Akaroa is beautiful and peace, a tiny town that surrounding by mountain, and its full of France style building, peaceful and i fall in love with Akaroa when i first stepped into the town!

That's a shame that the tour of swimming with dolphin had to cancel because of the bad weather, as you guys could see from the photo above.

I can do nothing but hope for the weather turn good by tomorrow morning, and yea, don't scroll and look for the photos of swimming with dolphin, the weather next day was even worse, showered in the early morning, till i really have to left and go to Oamaru. =(

So when i got to know the tour has cancelled, we walked around the tourship and got tans of photos! Every single corner make good photos, i just cant help taking photo before we get ourselves check into backpacker hostel.

June was telling me once that the fish and chip in Akaroa is world famous and i must try it when i was there.

We pass it by and walked into for a tried, it was a disappointed, i still love the fish and chip in Tauranga, the best that i had in NZ!

And we continue to walked further after that, come across lot of places and building.

And later we check ourselves in to Chez La Mer Backpacker, the backpacker that cozy and it is a historical building! More photos and detail in the last part of this post!

And the next day, i can go anyway but walked in the town. Walking in this town is comfortable, everything are so beautiful and that make you smile from heart.

We found a old church and this church make my heart calm and peace. I really hope i have more time to spend in this town, this town has give me lots of surprise and i just cannot forget the times i was here.

And lastly the backpackers i stayed in Akaroa, well this is the only backpackers i stayed in Akaroa, there was like plenty over there but i kinda like this backpacker, like a yam layer cake! <3 div="">

Chez La Mer backpacker is the member of BBH, so if you have a BBH card you will have 3 dollar discount, if not that will be $28 per person per night, but we were staying in a 3 beds room, there are dorm room available and should be slightly cheaper, i forget the price.

Just because Aston is a newbie of backpacker and new to backpacker hostel, i suppose she needs time to get herself comfort in backpacker hostel, and we choose to get this 3 beds room.

If you think this is expensive, i tell you what, this hostel provide free coffee and tea, free bike hire, and FREE INTERNET! And this is all year long, not only in winter, we were there in summer and still UNLIMITED INTERNET!

If you're not in NZ, FYI nz has nothing that is FREE, especially internet. This make us like kena lottery :D

This backpacker hostel definitely is one of my top 3 backpacker hostel that i have stayed in NZ!

And Akaroa will be the one of the top 3 places that i love the most in NZ too!
