Its my place: Grandma Birthday Celebration

The past week is such a difficult week for me. I go thru the working problem and friendship problem, doubt on what had i done and been so depressed and confused on the everything.

But life must go on, and leave it to time, time will heal.

Taiwan working trip confirmed, will depart by 23 of Nov, back by 29 of Nov, not managed to extra days to stay because there are 2 event and deadline coming in the December, got the work finish in Taiwan then i have come back immediately to pick up my duty.

Beside work, had a family gatherine a.k.a Grandma birthday celebration, i'm so careless for forgotten grandma birthday, until mum told me to free the weekend night for the family dinner, i asked why and she said is granny birthday.

Rushed to get something for grandma before the dinner, Elaine asked for share so we got more budget to get grandma a birthday present.

I admit i didn't consider too much, i walked into Yee Yan Sang, i saw bird nest then i grab, paid and go home, all done in half hour.

All the family members attend this dinner, except Jessica, she is studying in Taiwan, just couldn't not get back for the celebration. If i could remembered that is the dinner for grandma birthday, i thinki would ask Jess to wish grandma a happy birthday in video and have it send over, just because i'm too heartless to remembering grandma birthday.

Oh yea, we went to Palace Restaurant in Selayang, very grand restaurant from the outside but very lousy food and service, and most important, very very very dirty restaurant, i gave a fail for the foods and service there.

1. Bad environment. We made the booking earlier and we expected we will get our own space, eg a room for 2 tables. But we ended up seated in the open hall with buncha of noisy kids and people making real noise, this is so irratating.

2. The dishes ARE dirty. Elaine found this first, she first saw her glass are oily and with finger print, then she found mine with some sticky gravy thingy, then the whole table started to check their own dishes, some of them found dust, dirt, black spot, oil, gravy on their spoon, glass, chopstick, plate!!! How disgust?!

3. Bad service. We found the dirt, so we ask for change, this is not one or two dishes with dirt, so after the waitress got us change of course we will be extra careful to check it all over again (and yea some of the change with the SAME dirt as well!!!), then the waitress who served our table start showing us face. I only said "Excuse me.." by holding the dirt spoon, he glanced me a while then took the spoon away without wait me finish "can you please change the spoon for me?"!!! and he TROWN the spoon into my bowl without excuse himself! So yea the Rachel Chew won't just keep silent and didn't do anything, i yelled over the table to Babby Chew "Hey check the dishes, we found a lot of dirty dishes here, and get it all change in one time, because the waitress showing up his face when we keep asking for change." Obviously the manager heard, the waitress heard, and so for the customer.

4. Oily and dirty food! So the dish serve, first 3 are fine, then the following are worst. First, the steamed fish, when it served Elaine and I asked the same question "is this fish well done?". Because you know why? The top of the white fish meat are cover with OIL! ok the fish might need oil, but the oil are too many until we saw that's actually raw fish meat from far. THIS IS DISGUSTING!!! And the following shrimp are oily, the noodle are oily. Ok brocoli with mushroom, is not oily but SALTY! with extra brocali WORMSSSSSSSSSSS inside. The brocoli are soooooooooooo salty with some kind of jelly thingy cover above, then Elaine found WORMS inside!

The rest like, they making wrong order and lets us wait for another 20 minute, or the waitress keep going in and out to get the table cover for others table, the HORRIBLE toilet especially! Oh my, i wonder why this restaurant never got complain. I'm not fussy person but i couldn't take this too! They're very high class and grand restaurant (http://www.selayangpalace.com/, take a look, its look grand but its actually no different with hawker center level), this is not the service and foods to serve to the consumer, and this restaurant gonna be in my blacklisted list forever and ever and ever! Readers, my advice, never go SELAYANG PALACE RESTAURANT!

But anyway our complain to the restaurant not ruin the dinner. We still chat (or yell, because the damn noise there) happily coz we don't have much chance to have all 4 families to have dinner together.
