New Zealand: Mt. Maunganui - I must be crazy....

... to had ice cream in winter, by the windy sea side!

I know i've been delay the post a lot, not because of busy working but i just have to pick up a little of my writing, i had delay that more than my blog!

My life is so routine, i'm not complaining but thankful, this is what i looked for before i came to NZ. However the routine life = bored, i have nothing special to post unless i went out in the weekend, but the bad thing is the weather here is not happy, keep raining for few days and getting cold here, make me don't wanna go anywhere anymore in the weekend.

But the biggest aim to coming here is travel, so by last weekend i went to Mountain Maunganui for the second time. The first time was hiking with Will & Hoe, we missed the beach because it was too late and too cold to go.

So Tien and Yee feel wanna go somewhere in the weekend and i remembered of the beach in Mt. Maunganui, and the crowdy ice cream shop nearby.

Well, Mt. Maunganui is an attraction, there is a shopping area there too, we never expect there was a Sunday farmer market there, although this is a small one.

The farmer market held in every Sunday morning till 12pm, not much stalls but if you drop by you could pay a visit, you might get some really cheap vege and cheese too.

The next stop, Copenhagen Cones, the 20 years old ice cream shop in Mt. Maunganui.

This is crazy! I mean in the windy day with no sunshine, people are so crazy for ice cream and the people is keep coming until they closed.

We had their famous, Super Waffle, cost us $5.60, another dollar if you want 3 scopes of choice of ice cream favor, while the small one only with one scope, with syrup, cream and topping.

I dislike dessert much, especially ice cream, but the waffle cones is damnnnnnnn nice! Fresh make in the shop and you can feel the heat of the cones still! I choose the cookie and cream ice cream favor, not too sweet and just nice to eat with the peanut topping. :D

After ice cream, there come to beach.

I just have to say i love Papamoa more, the beach is cleaner and not so crowdy, more comfortable to have some quiet time there.

There is an island just half hour walking distance away from the beach. Yes, walk, the beach is connected with the island, if you lazy to hike up to the Mt. Maunganui, you can hike the mini one.

Still looking forward to the big free market, i just missed one in the last Sunday, which will be held in every 2nd Sunday of the month, i can only wait for the next time :'(.

Will hike up to Mt. Maunganui for the second time this weekend (hopefully), this time for the sun rise but not sunset, and I MUST HIKE TO THE PEAK!!!! Let's see :D

Oh yea! Most of the photos not from Xiao P, i only realised Xiao P was running out of battery, only managed to took some farmer market photos, the rest from Tien & Yee.
